The Cobham Bowling Club was formed in 1932 as Cobham Recreation Bowling Club. Over the years, it has developed to encompass both outdoor lawn bowls and short mat bowls. We have a very active membership and not only play friendly matches against other clubs, but also participate in league matches and competitions for ladies, men and mixed both outdoors and short mat. One of our short mat teams holds the distinction of progressing from Division 3 to Division 1 in successive seasons and winning the league championship at the first time of asking. The men won the Outdoor Tuesday League in 2002 and the Ladies won the Surrey Advertiser League in 2005 & 2007.
While the prime activity of the club is bowling, the social side is not forgotten. During the winter months we have a monthly social, with a varied selection of activities. Examples are an Italian evening and a slide show on the wildlife of Costa Rica put on by members of the club.
The club is located in Lushington Drive, Cobham (view map) and visitors are always welcome to come and try the sport. Equipment can be provided and the club has several members trained to the English Bowls Coaching Scheme standard.
Subscriptions are 100 pounds per year for full membership (which includes short mat and social membership), 45 pounds for short mat membership (which includes social membership) and 15 pounds for social membership only.
Cobham Bowling club is affiliated to Bowls England, SCBA, SCWBA, WSBA, NWSBA and ESMBA. Also visit Cobham Sports Association.
